About the Role
We’re hiring a Creative Director to deepen the visual soul of our company and product from day one. You’ll take the brand DNA and turn it into a living system—clear, extensible, and unmistakable across every touchpoint.
You’ll collaborate with the founding team to explore new interaction patterns, shape how people first encounter the product, and evolve a visual language that can scale from early experiments to a global brand.

What You’ll Do
Define the core visual language and brand system (logo, typography, color, motion, illustration/imagery) and evolve it as the product matures.
Express the brand across product surfaces (onboarding, core flows, UI states), marketing (website, campaigns), and physical or environmental touchpoints.
Explore and prototype a wide range of creative directions for how this new technology should look, feel, and emotionally land with people—then narrow and refine with the team.
Maintain a high bar of taste and craft, including giving and receiving thoughtful critique.
Skills and Qualifications
Minimum qualifications:
8+ years of experience in brand, visual, or communication design, with a strong focus on digital products (agency, studio, or product company experience all welcome).
A portfolio that demonstrates original visual systems and brand identities you helped define—not just applications of an existing system.
Deep command of typography, color, composition, and layout, and how those translate into responsive interfaces and real product constraints.
Ability to take zero-to-one briefs and turn them into multiple concrete creative explorations without waiting for perfect requirements.
Comfort collaborating with product and engineering partners, working with prototyping tools to iterate quickly and ship.
A humble but voracious creative drive towards human centric design.
Preferred qualifications — we encourage you to apply if you meet some but not all of these:
Experience in both agency/studio and in-house product environments, or equivalent breadth of brand and product work.
Prior experience defining the brand for a new product or company, especially from very early stages.
Well versed in UX and product design processes; you can partner closely with a product/UI designer and occasionally step into that role when needed.
Experience designing for complex or emerging technologies (AI, new interaction paradigms, multi-surface systems) where the “right” patterns don’t exist yet.
Experience directing or collaborating with other designers (motion, 3D, illustrators, photographers) to ship coherent work.

Logistics
Location: San Francisco, CA (on-site)
Compensation: $250k-$500k expected salary with 1% to 5% equity depending on background.
