About the Role

We're hiring a 3D & Motion Designer to help bring a new visual language to life through motion. No AI experience expected. We're looking for someone with extraordinary taste and craft who can create across in-product animation, 3D content, environmental installations, product visualization, and motion design.

You'll work directly with our Founder to push an established brand identity forward, creating animations, 3D elements, and motion work that live inside the product and extend into physical and spatial experiences.

What You'll Do

Design motion and 3D experiences within the consumer application, creating animations, transitions, and dimensional elements that live inside the product.
Translate digital experiences into physical and spatial representations: animated installations, product visualizations, environmental pieces, and content.
Create collateral across broader channels and placements, from social and marketing to office installations and large-format displays.
Take a 2D brand system and discover how it moves, lights, rotates, and exists in three dimensions.
Collaborate with the Founder to take brand direction and execute across surfaces with speed and precision.
Push creative boundaries within constraints, working within a design system that has its own rules and principles while finding what's possible.

Skills and Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

A portfolio demonstrating exceptional 3D design work: modeling, lighting, animation, and rendering with a clear aesthetic sensibility.
Strong foundation in graphic design principles: typography, composition, color, and layout. 3D work must be grounded in design fundamentals.
Experience creating animated 3D content for brand, environmental, or experiential applications.
Ability to translate 2D design systems into compelling 3D interpretations that maintain brand coherence.
Sharp eye for detail, material quality, and lighting. Your work should feel tactile and real.
Comfort working closely with a founder who has strong design opinions and leads creative direction.

Preferred qualifications (we encourage you to apply if you meet some but not all of these):

Experience in luxury, fashion, or high-end brand 3D work where subtlety and craft matter more than spectacle.
Background in environmental or installation design: large-format displays, projection mapping, or spatial experiences.
Experience with real-time 3D or interactive installations.
Familiarity with product visualization and rendering for physical goods (merchandise, packaging, collectibles).
Motion design experience, including an understanding of timing, easing, and how movement communicates brand personality.

Logistics

Location: San Francisco, CA (on-site)
Compensation: $200k−$500k expected salary with 1% to 5% equity depending on background.
